Before forming Spiritbox, LaPlante and Stringer were members of Iwrestledabearonce, where they developed a reputation for technical experimentation and genre fluidity. With Spiritbox, they refined that experimentation into a more focused yet emotionally expansive style, balancing crushing riffs and ambient soundscapes with LaPlante’s dynamic vocal range, which shifts seamlessly between ethereal melodies and aggressive screams.
Their breakout full-length album, Eternal Blue, was released in 2021 to critical acclaim, debuting high on international charts and solidifying the band as one of modern metal’s most innovative acts.
