About Spiritbox

Spiritbox is a Canadian progressive metal band, formed in 2017 by husband-and-wife Courtney LaPlante and Mike Stringer. 

Before forming Spiritbox, LaPlante and Stringer were members of Iwrestledabearonce, where they developed a reputation for technical experimentation and genre fluidity. With Spiritbox, they refined that experimentation into a more focused yet emotionally expansive style, balancing crushing riffs and ambient soundscapes with LaPlante’s dynamic vocal range, which shifts seamlessly between ethereal melodies and aggressive screams.

Their breakout full-length album, Eternal Blue, was released in 2021 to critical acclaim, debuting high on international charts and solidifying the band as one of modern metal’s most innovative acts. Tracks like “Holy Roller” and “Circle With Me” showcased their balance of technical precision, emotional vulnerability, and contemporary production.

Spiritbox has toured internationally and performed at major festivals, earning praise for both musicianship and stage presence. Their evolving sound continues to push genre boundaries, positioning them at the forefront of the new wave of progressive heavy music.
