Cambridge five-piece Lonely The Brave have spent more than a decade winning hearts with big, emotional, anthemic rock. They first broke through with the Backroads EP (2013), which earned them BBC Radio 1 support, festival sets at Download and Reading & Leeds, and memorable early shows alongside Bruce Springsteen and Deftones. Debut album The Day's War (2014) reached No.14 in the UK and topped both the UK rock and independent album charts, with the more expansive Things Will Matter (2016) following two years later. Along the way they've shared stages with Neil Young and Biffy Clyro, and those first two records have racked up more than 85 million Spotify streams between them.
At the heart of that early sound was Dave Jakes, one of the most distinctive voices in UK rock. Having stepped away from the band in 2018, he has since reunited with his old bandmates, and the five-piece who made those first two records are back together, playing live and writing new music. Expect soaring melodies, towering guitars and the kind of heart-on-sleeve choruses that turn a room full of strangers into one big singalong.
