About Level 42

Level 42 have already forged an incredible career over the past 30 years.

They have sold well over 30 million albums and seen 20 singles reach the Top 40 in the UK including their #1 1985 song Leaving Me Now. Lessons In Love hit #3 in the UK Singles Chart in 1985 which was followed by the massive song Something About You which was also hugely successful in the US.

The current line-up of the band sees Mark King play bass and share vocals with keyboardist Mike Lindup, Nathan King on guitar, Sean Freeman playing saxophone and drummer Pete Ray Biggin.

Taking their name from a reference to The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, the band starting jamming together in 1979 and were heard by the independent label Elite Records who promptly signed them.

They released the single Love Meeting Love which attracted the attention of Polydor Records who then took the band on board. The single Love Games was the first release by the major label which immediately broke the Top 40.

Having proved themselves as a top selling act, the band continued to experiment and develop their jazz funk sound which resonated with audiences around the world. The band continue to tour and write new material which reaches new audiences today.

This October sees them play an extensive tour which includes headline performances at Theatre, Venue Cymru in Llandudno, The Lowry at Manchester, Stoke venue Victoria Hall and O2 ABC Glasgow. They then push on to Sage Gateshead Sage One, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Symphony Hall at Birmingham and Winter Gardens in Margate. The tour continues to Southend at Cliffs Pavillion, Regent Theatre in Ipswich then New Theatre at leafy Oxford, Portsmouth Guildhall, Colston Hall in Bristol and Bath Pavillion. Finally, they then play at Hall For Cornwall inn Truro, Pavillion Theatre in Bournemouth, G Live in Guildford, Reading Hexagon, Watford Colosseum and Eventim Apollo in London.
