A Nashville-based roots rock and country duo celebrated for their keen songwriting, vocal harmony and genre-blending sound.
Striking Matches are a guitar-driven American duo from Nashville, made up of songwriters and instrumentalists Sarah Zimmermann and Justin Davis. They met while studying at Belmont University and discovered a shared love of roots, blues, rock and country-tinged songwriting. Their debut studio album Nothing But the Silence (2015) was co-produced by the renowned T Bone Burnett and showcased their rich blend of harmony-led vocals and back-to-basics instrumentation.
In their live shows they’ve earned a reputation for energetic performance and tight musicianship. Their songs were also featured multiple times on the television series Nashville, helping introduce their sound to a broader audience. They continue to bridge genres with authenticity, offering heartfelt songwriting rooted in American roots tradition—stars of their own kind of flame.
