Formed in Brighton in 2016, Squid have spent the past decade cementing their reputation as one of the most inventive bands in UK art-rock. The quintet are known for their intricate and ever-evolving live performances, and a catalogue that has marked a new era of experimentation in British guitar music.
Ranging across folk, kosmische, psychedelia, jazz and electronics, their records explore bold and ambitious themes with an unapologetically sharp edge. Their 2025 album Cowards earned widespread critical acclaim, with The Quietus praising them as "the most exciting and volatile the group has ever sounded."
