I was not very familiar with Solstafir’s music, so I booked tickets to see Myrkur, who were excellent themselves, a theatrical with an occasional corny show, but all in all quite entertaining. However, it was Solstafir who really wowed on Friday night - my goodness. Such power, grace, emotion, presence, puissance, these guys are absolute masters of their oeuvre, blending power and bombast with subtlety and emotion. Amazing. Banter with the audience was funny and at times moving and thought-provoking. A very human band, and all the better for it.
