Skids are a legendary Scottish punk rock band that emerged from the vibrant post-punk scene of the late 1970s. Formed in Dunfermline in 1977, the band quickly became known for their energetic performances, politically charged lyrics, and a sound that blended punk with new wave, post-punk, and a touch of anthemic rock.

Their debut album Scared to Dance (1979) is often hailed as a seminal release in the punk and new wave movements, with songs like "Into the Valley" becoming iconic anthems of the era.
