Saturdays at Your Place is an alternative emo band from Kalamazoo, Michigan, formed by three friends—Esden Stafne (vocals/bass), Gabe Wood (vocals/drums), and Mitch Gulish (guitar)—who met at Western Michigan University. Their music blends heavy and twinkly guitar parts with group vocals and heartfelt lyrics, capturing the complexities of growing up and navigating adulthood. Since forming, the trio have built a devoted following through emotionally charged live performances and a raw, authentic approach to songwriting.
Their debut album, these things happen (12th September 2025), explores themes of self-discovery and the unpredictability of life, drawing influence from Paul Thomas Anderson’s 1999 film Magnolia. Tracks like “waste away” and “what am I supposed to do?” showcase their ability to merge introspection with raw emotion. With a sound that continues to evolve, Saturdays at Your Place has become a relatable voice within the emo and alternative scenes, offering listeners a soundtrack that is as vulnerable as it is honest.
