Prewn is the name of the dark, emotionally raw project led by American musician Izzy Hagerup, who blends influences from indie rock, freak-folk and post-punk to create music that’s haunting, unpolished and deeply personal. Her 2023 debut album Through the Window was praised for its visceral atmosphere and fearless exploration of trauma, grief and existential unease — at once unnerving and strangely beautiful.
Having relocated to Los Angeles, Hagerup released System in 2025, a follow-up record that digs even deeper into anxiety, isolation and the alienation of modern life, delivered with ragged guitars, bruised strings and vocal intensity that can feel both vulnerable and confrontational. On stage and in studio alike, Prewn’s music feels like a late-night journal unfiltered — messy, beautiful and cathartic.
