Novelists are a Parisian band whose sound merges the precision of djent with the emotional force of modern metalcore. Formed in 2013, the group’s music balances technical complexity with melody and atmosphere, creating songs that feel both powerful and cinematic. Now consisting of Florestan Durand (guitar), Amael Durand (drums), Nicolas Delestrade (bass), Pierre Danel (guitar) and Camille Contreras (vocals), they’ve earned a reputation for intricate musicianship and dynamic live shows that channel both aggression and introspection.
Their studio albums — Souvenirs (2015), Noir (2017), C’est La Vie (2020) and Déjà Vu: Première Partie (2022) — trace a journey of evolution and ambition, moving from sharp-edged technicality to broader, more melodic expression. Whether on record or on stage, Novelists blend intensity with emotion, crafting music that resonates as much for its feeling as its force. Their fusion of precision and passion has made them a defining voice within Europe’s progressive metal scene.
