Mary in the Junkyard are a London-based experimental rock trio known for their raw, emotional energy and unpredictable sound. Formed by Clari Freeman-Taylor (vocals, guitar), Saya Barbaglia (bass, viola) and David Addison (drums), the band blends elements of post-punk, grunge and art-rock, crafting music they describe as “angry, weepy, chaos rock.” Their debut single, “Tuesday” (2023), introduced their hypnotic and jagged style, while follow-up “Ghosts” further cemented their reputation for dark, atmospheric songwriting. Their live shows have drawn comparisons to PJ Harvey and Sonic Youth, with a visceral intensity that keeps audiences captivated.
Rapidly making a name for themselves in the UK indie scene, Mary in the Junkyard have played at renowned venues like YES in Manchester and major festivals including Green Man, The Great Escape and End of the Road. With upcoming tour dates across the UK, Europe and the US, their reputation as an electrifying live band continues to grow. As they push boundaries and gain momentum, Mary in the Junkyard are emerging as one of the most compelling new voices in alternative rock.
