About LYR

LYR are a genre-defying trio bringing together the words of poet Simon Armitage, the musicianship of Richard Walters and the production craft of Patrick Pearson. Blending spoken-word, atmospheric electronics and richly textured indie soundscapes, they create music that sits at the crossroads of storytelling and song. Their work explores the human condition with warmth, wit and emotional clarity — lyrical snapshots wrapped in ambient swells, delicate melodies and subtle rhythmic pulses. The result is a sound that feels both intimate and cinematic, drawing listeners into stories that linger long after the final line.

On stage, LYR offer performances that balance poetic stillness with evocative musical movement. Each member contributes a distinct voice, creating a live experience that is immersive, thoughtful and quietly powerful. Whether performing in concert halls, literary settings or contemporary music spaces, the trio bring an unmistakable sense of craft and connection. Their work resonates with fans of both poetry and alternative music, creating a space where language, atmosphere and emotion collide in beautiful harmony.
