Lewis Capaldi is a Scottish singer-songwriter renowned for his emotive voice, heartfelt lyrics, and relatable ballads. He began performing locally at a young age and gained early attention through platforms like SoundCloud. Capaldi’s breakthrough came in 2018 with the global hit single “Someone You Loved”, which topped the UK Singles Chart for seven weeks and reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song earned a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year and won the 2020 Brit Award for Song of the Year, establishing him as one of the UK’s most compelling new artists.
His debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent (2019), became the UK’s best-selling album in 2019 and 2020, featuring hits like “Grace” and “Hold Me While You Wait”. In 2023, he followed up with Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, which debuted at No. 1 across multiple countries and included singles such as “Forget Me”, “Pointless”, and “Wish You the Best”. Despite a brief touring hiatus due to health challenges, Capaldi returned to headline Glastonbury and BST Hyde Park, demonstrating his enduring appeal and solidifying his place among the UK’s leading contemporary singer-songwriters.
