Låpsley is a British singer-songwriter and producer, known for her ethereal vocals, minimalist electronic production, and deeply introspective songwriting. Born Holly Lapsley Fletcher in Southport, England, she first gained attention with her self-produced EP Monday (2014), which showcased her unique blend of electronic, ambient, and alternative R&B influences. Her breakthrough came with the release of Long Way Home (2016), featuring the hauntingly beautiful single "Hurt Me", as well as "Operator (He Doesn’t Call Me)", which became a club favourite thanks to DJ Koze’s disco-infused remix.
Låpsley followed up with her second album, Through Water (2020), which delved into themes of personal growth, environmental change, and self-reflection, solidifying her reputation as one of the UK’s most compelling contemporary artists. She has performed at major festivals such as Glastonbury, Latitude, and SXSW, and her intimate yet expansive sound continues to evolve. With her distinctive melancholic yet soulful voice and innovative production style, Låpsley remains a standout force in modern electronic and alternative music.
