Mercury Prize-nominated South London singer-songwriter Joy Crookes blends soul, jazz and R&B with honest, beautifully told stories about love, identity and belonging.
Raised in Elephant and Castle, Joy Crookes weaves soul, jazz and R&B into songs about relationships, identity, politics and where we come from. Her debut album Skin (2021) went top five in the UK, was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and earned her BRIT Award nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop/R&B Act, with the much-loved "Feet Don't Fail Me Now" among its standout moments.
Second album Juniper (2025) found her at her most open yet, pairing deeply personal lyrics with lush, soul-soaked production and guest spots from Vince Staples on "Pass The Salt" and Kano on "Mathematics". That same year she won over the crowds on Glastonbury's Other Stage, and she has since supported Lewis Capaldi on his North American arena tour, playing venues like Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl. UK festival fans have also caught her at Cross The Tracks and Boardmasters, while collaborations with Bonobo on "Always On Your Side" and Denzel Curry on "Painkiller" show just how far her voice can travel. Live, expect rich vocals, heartfelt storytelling and plenty of South London warmth.
