Talented musicians. Great performance
Joe and his band are incredible musicians. The horn section is fantastic and in some ways they are the front line but all the musicians are so talented and play together so well. I felt the live performance by Joe's band was much more jazz influenced and free form than their recorded album. I enjoyed the versions they played live and listened to the album all the way home. They are each quite different but both are great. Give these talented, non main-stream musicians your support! Buy their music!
The venue was great. Small, friendly and affordable. I am a miserable old bugger who is always amazed and annoyed by the large number of people who talk through a gig....even through brilliant solos and quieter sections. I suppose they have paid to support the band so its their choice but last night was especially loud. Not sure if anything can be done.
