East London singer-songwriter James Smith blends soulful vocals, heartfelt songwriting and classic influences into raw, emotionally honest pop.
Raised between East London and Essex, James Smith has built a loyal following through his soulful voice, honest songwriting and deeply personal approach to music. Inspired early on by artists such as Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway, he taught himself guitar from the age of nine and quickly became a regular on the East End pub circuit while still in his teens. Music became both an outlet and an obsession, shaping a sound that blends classic soul influences with contemporary pop songwriting.
Since emerging online with breakthrough tracks including “T-Shirts”, James Smith has gone on to amass more than 200 million streams worldwide and sell out headline shows across the UK and Europe, including dates at Dingwalls and Omeara. Known for his powerful live performances and emotionally direct lyrics, he continues to establish himself as one of the UK’s most exciting modern singer-songwriters.
