Born Horace Hinds in Kingston, Jamaica, Andy first rose to prominence in the early 1970s with his hit singles such as “Skylarking” and “You Are My Angel”, which established him as one of the most iconic and influential reggae vocalists of his time.
His collaborations with producer Lee "Scratch" Perry and influential label Studio One helped shape his sound, which blends roots reggae, dub, and lovers rock. Throughout the years, Andy has continued to captivate listeners with his distinctive vocal delivery and ability to evoke deep emotion. He is perhaps best known for his work with Massive Attack, where his voice featured prominently on tracks like “Angel” and “Safe from Harm”.
