+ HAGGARD CAT + MOTHER VULTURE
Rock City, Nottingham
Doors at 18:30
Haggard Cat hail from Nottingham and consist of guitarist-vocalist Matt Reynolds and drummer Tom Marsh, who formed the band after their time in the post-hardcore outfit HECK. Their breakthrough came with the album Challenger (2018) released via Earache Records, which showcased their signature blend of heavy blues-toned guitar, driving drums and raw, hook-filled songs. Their follow-up album Common Sense Holiday (2020) continued the momentum, with critics noting how the band expanded their palette while maintaining their ferocious live DNA.
With a fierce DIY ethic and a live presence that commands attention, Haggard Cat have built a reputation not just for riffs but for attitude—part punk, part riff-monster, and wholly committed. Whether tearing through tracks on stage or crafting clever, hard-hitting records, they demonstrate that sometimes less is more if it’s delivered with intensity, passion and no compromise.
