Gen and the Degenerates are a bold, anarchic UK alt-punk/rock outfit fronted by the formidable and charismatic vocalist Genevieve Glynnâ€'Reeves. Known for their blend of post-punk edge, gritty rock energy and a punk attitude laced with wit and urgency, they bring a sound that is raw, confrontational and irresistibly catchy. Their 2024 debut album Anti-Fun Propaganda landed with a bang — packed with anthemic songs that tackle the chaos of modern life with sharp satire, candid observations and big hooks. Critics praised it for its fearless honesty and high-voltage energy.
On stage, Gen and the Degenerates are electric: a live experience fuelled by raw intensity, communal energy and the kind of unapologetic expressiveness that turns gigs into statements. Despite recently slimming down to a trio, with Genevieve joined by guitarist Sean Healandâ€'Sloan and drummer Evan Reeves, their commitment to social commentary, chaotic honesty and explosive performance remains undimmed. Their 2025 single “Wahoo” announced a bold new chapter, written in the wake of loss and rebirth, and suggests more adventurous directions ahead. Gen and the Degenerates continue to stake their claim as one of Britain’s most vital and rebellious voices in modern punk-rock.
