Frost* are one of British progressive rock's most inventive bands, formed in 2004 by keyboardist and producer Jem Godfrey. From the very start they had a knack for pairing big, catchy melodies with lush vocal harmonies and seriously ambitious musicianship — a combination that made their 2006 debut Milliontown an instant favourite and, in time, a modern classic of the genre.
Alongside Godfrey, the band has featured guitarist John Mitchell, bassist Nathan King and drummer Craig Blundell, and their catalogue has grown across five studio albums. Experiments in Mass Appeal (2008) and Falling Satellites (2016) built on that early promise, followed by Day and Age (2021) and the sprawling double concept album Life in the Wires (2024), a near 90-minute epic that drew some of the warmest reviews of their career. Melodic, intricate and never afraid to take a risk, Frost* remain a band that rewards close listening and repeat plays.
