About Café del Mundo

Café del Mundo are the German guitar duo of Jan Pascal and Alexander Kilian, who met at a flamenco guitar workshop in 2007 and have been redrawing the boundaries of the instrument ever since. Pascal is the melodic, poetic one; Kilian is the virtuoso, regarded as a prodigy from a young age. On stage, those two personalities meet in a fast, expressive dialogue between two guitars, blending flamenco with classical, jazz, pop and rock into a sound that has earned them standing ovations and a devoted following.

Across more than ten albums, the pair have carried the flamenco guitar well beyond traditional folklore. They have recorded at London’s Abbey Road Studios and worked with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and in 2026 they received Germany’s foremost classical music award, the Opus Klassik, for Tour of the Year. British audiences have had plenty of chances to see them live, too: since their first UK club tour in 2019 they have become regular visitors, playing clubs and concert halls from Bristol and Sheffield to Manchester and Birmingham.
