Who are Black Veil Brides?
Black Veil Brides are Andy Biersack (lead vocals), Ashley Purdy (bass, backing vocals), Jake Pitts (lead guitar), Jinxx (rhythm guitar, violin) and Christian "CC" Coma (drums).
Black Veil Brides formed in Ohio in 2006 before relocating to Hollywood, California. The group often referred to as BVB consists of Andy Biersack (vocals), Ashley Purdy (bass, backing vocals), Jake Pitts (lead guitar), Jinxx (guitar, violin) and Christian (CC) Coma (drums). The group's eye-catching glam rock style is a direct nod to their musical influencers Kiss and Motly Crue. To date the band have released six studio albums; We Stitch These Wounds (2010), Set the World on Fire (2011), Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones. In 2014, they dropped a self titled album followed by Vale (2018).
Last year saw the release of hit concept album The Phantom Tomorrow which saw the melodic rockers expand into political themes and explore the grey areas of social morality.
"It's a concept record. The story is essentially the idea… In our society, especially now, we have this love of building up heroes and obsessing over other people who often don't give a shit about you or anybody else, and we kind of have these false idols and heroes. And so the story is kind of about taking this mythological character and the people putting all of this power on to them, and then ultimately turning their back on the character because nobody can fulfill the dreams and ideas that you put on somebody else. So it's an alternate version of our own timeline where our obsession with heroes and the iconography of somebody that's aspirational kind of gets out of control and becomes our whole society." - Andy Biersack
