Stoke-on-Trent's nu metalcore five-piece, serving up groove-heavy riffs, crushing breakdowns and a fresh take on the nu metal revival.
Black Coast are a five-piece nu metalcore band from Stoke-on-Trent, made up of vocalist Charlie Hewitt, guitarists Scott Pinnington and Joe Mayer, bassist Jack Beardsall and drummer Matty Clark. Formed in 2016, they've grown into one of the most exciting names in the UK's nu metal revival, building a reputation for groove-heavy riffs, brutal breakdowns and a sound that tips its hat to the likes of Deftones and Linkin Park while very much doing its own thing.
Their debut album Outworld (2021) arrived to warm reviews and set the tone for a band happy to wear its heart on its sleeve, with Hewitt drawing on raw, deeply personal themes throughout. A self-titled EP followed in 2023, led by the single "Mercy". Tracks such as "Chains", "Strangers Skin" and "Mercy" have become firm fan favourites, while tours and support slots alongside Stray from the Path, In Hearts Wake and Silent Screams, plus dates over in Japan, have helped sharpen the ferocious live show that's won them such a loyal following.
