Alanis Morissette is a Canadian singer-songwriter whose fearless honesty, expressive voice and emotionally charged songwriting have made her one of the most influential artists of modern music. After releasing two dance-pop albums as a teenager, she reinvented herself with the groundbreaking Jagged Little Pill (1995) — a raw, cathartic blend of alternative rock, pop and introspection that became a global phenomenon. With anthems such as “You Oughta Know”, “Ironic” and “Hand in My Pocket”, the album captured a generation’s frustrations and hopes, earning multiple Grammy Awards and cementing Morissette as the defining voice of mid-90s alt-rock.
Since then, Alanis has continued to evolve, exploring spirituality, healing and personal growth across acclaimed albums including Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie (1998), Under Rug Swept (2002) and Such Pretty Forks in the Road (2020). Her work extends far beyond music: she’s acted in film and TV, written for stage, and is a vocal advocate for mental health, mindfulness and holistic well-being. On stage, Morissette remains a magnetic, uplifting presence, delivering performances filled with vulnerability, power and connection. With her poetic lyricism and unwavering authenticity, she stands as one of the most enduring and inspiring artists of her generation.
