Tramhaus are a Rotterdam five-piece whose wiry, high-voltage post-punk has taken them from their home city's clubs to festival stages across Europe and beyond.
Tramhaus formed in Rotterdam in the early 2020s, and the five-piece of singer Lukas Jansen, guitarists Micha Zaat and Nadya van Osnabrugge, bassist Julia Vroegh and drummer Jim Luijten soon made their mark with a string of seven-inch singles, beginning with the wry, wiry "I Don't Sweat". The Rotterdam EP (2022) turned up the heat, and debut album The First Exit (2024) earned five-star reviews from the Netherlands' biggest newspapers. Second album Blister (2026) was shaped by almost two years of near-constant touring.
It's on stage where Tramhaus really come alive. Their gigs are sharp, sweaty and thrillingly unpredictable, with Jansen prowling the front as the band swing from taut, nervy grooves to all-out noise. They've headlined tours across the UK and Europe, spent a week touring Japan and played SXSW, as well as festivals including The Great Escape, Primavera Sound, Best Kept Secret, Lowlands, Sziget and Dour. If you like your post-punk loud, danceable and played with real conviction, they're a must-see.
