DARK BLUES REVIVAL : BLUES, GRIT & SOUTHERN ROCK KOLA, Portsmouth
on Saturday 5th September 2026
Doors at 7:00pm
Dark Blues Revival is a growing movement built around one belief — that Blues, Southern Rock and Roots music still has the power to stop a room cold.
This co-headline edition brings together two of its most compelling forces for a night of serious live music at Kola, Portsmouth.
ROSS HARDING — The Dark Blues Preacher
South African-born, UK-based and impossible to ignore, Ross Harding has carved out a sound he calls Dark Blues — cinematic, groove-driven, atmospheric and emotionally charged. Blending the soul of traditional Blues with the weight of modern Rock, his live performances carry what Blues In Britain described as "a unique space in modern blues." Featured in Blues In Britain Magazine, charting on the IBBA, and a veteran of The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival, Harding's reputation is built on the music and nothing else.
REVENANT
Powerplay Magazine called them "one of the most refreshing and exciting sounds around" — and they've earned it. Formed in 2023, Revenant hit the ground running with their debut EP and their single 'The Masquerade', drawing favourable comparisons to Chris Cornell, Alter Bridge and Black Stone Cherry. Their 2025 releases landed them in Classic Rock Magazine's Tracks Of The Week and earned a 9/10 from Overtone Magazine. Their influences span Guns N' Roses, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blackberry Smoke through to Metallica — and live, every one of them shows. Having already toured with US Southern Rock royalty Preacher Stone and appeared at festivals including Maid of Stone and Firevolt, these southern UK rockers are firmly on the map. revenantsongs + 5
