Panic Shack are a Cardiff five-piece who formed in 2018 with a simple mission: to blow apart the idea that indie and punk are a members-only club. Made up of Sarah Harvey (vocals), Meg Fretwell and Romi Lawrence (guitars), Em Smith (bass) and Nick Williams (drums), they built a devoted following almost entirely through their live shows, which The Guardian praised for fusing "thrashy early LA-style punk" with wild, tongue-in-cheek choreography.
That word-of-mouth buzz carried them onto tours with Bob Vylan and Soft Play, and to festivals including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Green Man, End of the Road and SXSW. Their 2022 EP Baby Shack bottled their gleeful live chaos, its splatter-pink vinyl selling out almost instantly, while their self-titled debut album Panic Shack (2025), produced by Ali Chant, expands their gutsy sound with harmonies, synths and a wicked sense of humour. Conversational, funny and warm-hearted, their songs celebrate the everyday joys and frustrations of friendship — and promise one riotous night out.
