Dublin-born DJ Annie Mac (full name Annie Macmanus) immersed herself in the Belfast techno scene as a teenager whilst studying at Queens University Belfast. Having already developed a love for rock and indie, she was eager to learn more about underground dance and became a regular at club night Shine where she was introduced to the likes of the great Andy Weatherall who was in residency, plus Laurent Garnier and DJ Sneak.

The fledgling DJ and now experienced clubber relocated to Camden where she quickly claimed her own residency at infamous club The Underworld. Her name is now synonymous with vital dance-music and awesome raves, regularly being called on to electrify dancefloors right across the UK and beyond.

Annie also works as a writer and broadcaster when she isn’t playing to packed-out clubs and headlining festivals. Together with Nick Grimshaw, the pair would present BBC Switch on BBC 2 aimed at teenage listeners looking to discover new music. A tremendous success, the programme would be later re-launched as Nick Grimshaw and Annie Mac because of their massive rise in popularity. After first performing a live set at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Dundee in 2006 which was also broadcast, Annie was called upon to host the premiere radio station’s Future Sounds programme where she championed rising stars in dance, hip-hop and indie.

In 2021, Annie released her debut novel Mother Mother which became a Sunday Times bestseller. She also produces her podcast Changes with Annie Macmanus.
