MCLAREN RACING LIVE IN CONVERSATION

McLaren Racing Live artwork

When: Monday 14th December 2026 (The O2 arena, London)

The 2026 Formula 1 season has been unlike any other. New engines, sweeping aerodynamic regulations and the most significant reset of the rulebook in a generation, and McLaren Racing have been at the centre of it. This December, the team bring the inside story to The O2 arena, London, for a one-night-only live event featuring current drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, Team Principal Andrea Stella and CEO Zak Brown, alongside special guests from across McLaren's history.

Expect exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes stories and a rare level of access to one of motorsport's most successful teams. Over 60 years, 203 Grand Prix victories and 13 Constructors' Championships, McLaren have built a legacy that stretches from Bruce McLaren himself through to Senna, Häkkinen and the current crop. The evening will take in the 2026 season race by race, the team's milestone 1000th Grand Prix, and a look ahead across Formula 1, IndyCar, the World Endurance Championship and F1 Academy.

For anyone who has spent a race weekend living and dying by every qualifying lap, this is as close to the garage as most people will ever get.

THE FELICE BROTHERS

The Felice Brothers press shot

When: Wednesday 10th – Saturday 20th February 2027 (multiple UK dates)

Nearly two decades on from busking New York subway stations, The Felice Brothers return for a UK tour across Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, Nottingham and Birmingham. They've also hinted they "might even have something fresh to share" when they arrive in February.

Their most recent album, Valley of Abandoned Songs (2024), finds the band at their most intimate: a collection of almost-lost recordings that balance hope and despair through a cast of misfits and outcasts, followed by the new single "No Bosses." It's a record that rewards patience, much like the band themselves.

Few acts wear their influences (Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Levon Helm) with quite as much ease while still sounding themselves entirely. The New York Times once likened their music to "the rootsy mysticism of The Band." That still holds.

LIZ LAWRENCE

When: Wednesday 11th – Friday 20th November 2026 (multiple UK dates)

Vespers, Liz Lawrence's new album, was written in three weeks, six months after the death of her sister Jessie at 35. It is dedicated to her. That context shapes everything that follows. In her own words, she wanted to make a record that people could use, something that might do for grieving listeners what she found missing when she went looking for comfort in music herself.

Writing about the lack of grief records by women, Lawrence deliberately set out to fill that gap. Vespers is the result: a record written from within the loss rather than in retrospect, which gives it a different kind of weight from most music dealing with bereavement.

The November UK tour spans Oxford, Sheffield, Newcastle, London's Oslo and Bristol — intimate rooms that suit the scale of the music. If you've followed Lawrence since Peanuts (2024) - the sparkling funk-pop-rock record, this is a significant shift. If you're new to her, Vespers is the right place to start.

STOP MAKING SENSE LIVE

Stop Making Sense Live press shot

When: Friday 26th February – Saturday 22nd May 2027 (multiple UK dates)

Stop Making Sense, released in October 1984, is widely regarded as the greatest concert film ever made. Jonathan Demme's landmark film captures Talking Heads at their creative peak, beginning with David Byrne alone on stage with a boombox before gradually expanding, song by song, into a joyous 10-piece performance. More than 40 years on, it remains the benchmark for capturing live music on screen.

Stop Making Sense Live is performed by acclaimed Talking Heads tribute band Slippery People, who have been recreating it live since 2025, and a run of sold-out UK shows confirms the appetite is there.

The 10-piece band perform every Talking Heads song from the film in order, from "Psycho Killer" and "Burning Down the House" through to "Crosseyed and Painless", with the line-up growing on stage as the set progresses, mirroring the film's own format. Newly announced dates add Edinburgh's Queen's Hall, Glasgow's Queen Margaret Union, KOKO in London, Brighton's Concorde 2 and three nights at Arts Club Liverpool to an already extensive run.

If you've seen the film, you'll know why people keep coming back. If you haven't, this is the perfect introduction.

LIVE AT CHRISTMAS 2026

Live at Christmas 2026 artwork

When: Friday 18th December 2026 (Octagon Centre, Sheffield)

If you're after a great December night out in Sheffield, this is hard to beat. Live at Christmas 2026 brings a headline set from Sara Pascoe, one of British stand-up's most consistently sharp performers, alongside Fern Brady, Taskmaster champion and one of the past few years' most talked-about voices in comedy, fast-rising stand-up Toussaint Douglass, actor and comedian Tom Rosenthal (Plebs, Friday Night Dinner) and Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Amy Gledhill hosting.

It's a line-up that balances household names with some of comedy's fastest-rising talent, making it one of the strongest stand-up bills Sheffield will see this December.

Buying tickets this week? Here's what you need to know

When do tickets usually go on sale?

Most tickets go on sale in the morning, typically between 09:00 and 10:00, although times can vary by event. Always check the individual event page for confirmed details.

What sells out the fastest?

Intimate shows and one-off events tend to see the quickest demand. Several of this week's on-sales are at smaller venues, so if any of the tours appeal, the earlier, the better.

Should I buy tickets straight away?

If you're set on going, yes. The Liz Lawrence tour and the Stop Making Sense Live dates are both in small-capacity venues, and Stop Making Sense Live already has sold-out dates elsewhere in its run.

What concerts and tours go on sale this week?

This week's highlights include McLaren Racing Live in Conversation at The O2 arena, The Felice Brothers returning to UK stages, Liz Lawrence's Vespers tour across England in November, newly added Stop Making Sense Live dates and Live at Christmas 2026 at the Octagon Centre, Sheffield on Friday 18th December 2026.

What is Stop Making Sense Live?

Stop Making Sense (1984) is Jonathan Demme's concert film documenting Talking Heads at their creative peak.
