Hi Gigantic Gang,

The weekend is so close you can almost smell it and so Gigantic is back with the #NewMusicFriday blog and playlist. Not only do we create the perfect soundtrack to discover the new earworms that are going to dig into your brain, but we also have the Essential Records you’re going to need to add to your collection.

It’s hot out there so remember to stay hydrated kids xx

ESSENTIAL RECORDS

SPARKS – ‘A Steady Drip, Drip, Drip

Pop seditionaries’ Sparks never fail to delight and invigorate with each new release and we are certainly impressed with new record ‘A Steady Drip, Drip, Drip’ which is a hit with critics and their followers alike. They have once again broken the Top 10 – no mean feat for a band 50 years into their career!

The only battle plan was to try to do something that would sounds as compelling and urgent and provocative as anything we’ve ever done, even to someone who had never heard Sparks before. We don’t want people saying, ‘Oh you should have heard the band during this period in the past’. We don’t want to sound like a band that has 24 albums – what we’re doing doesn’t sound like it’s a band that has that long a history. That it stands on its own today is the most important thing.” – Russell Mael

Fans will want to grab a copy of ‘A Steady Drip, Drip, Drip’ which is out on Friday July 3rd on Double Heavyweight (Coloured) Vinyl, Double Picture Disc Vinyl, Deluxe CD (Book Edition) and this impressive Mega Bundle!

KSI – ‘Dissimulaiton

UK rapper KSI (AKA Olajide Olatunji) has been bubble for a while and now the homegrown talent explodes on his debut album release ‘Dissimulaiton’ could also be his first Number 1 record!

Olatunji has already found fame as a YouTuber, reaching a staggering 21.3 million subscribers with his hilarious vids and gaming exploits and since 2015 he’s also been finding more fans as his music career explodes. So, it’s no surprise that he’s already racing ahead on the mid-week streaming charts.

Dissimulaiton’ is out now on Limited Edition Deluxe CD, Deluxe Digital Album plus a special Bundle of them both!

LEVELLERS – ‘Peace

It’s been nearly eight long years since beloved Brighton based folk rockers Levellers treated us to a new LP and now they’re back with their eleventh offering ‘Peace’ which is a stirring return to form from the progressive band.

Produced in the Levellers very own Metway Studios with the help of long-time collaborator Sean Lakeman, the eleven songs (we’re sensing a theme here!) take stock at a world teetering on the edge, denounce the right-wing demagogues pushing us towards destruction and evaporates the cloud of fear obscuring our collective vision.

Scheduled for release on Friday 14th of August, you can pre-order ‘Peace’ right now on Signed Super Deluxe Coloured Double Vinyl, Signed Deluxe Splatter Vinyl + 7”, Vinyl, CD +DVD, CD and an incredible Signed Bundle!

This year sees Levellers touring extensively to promote ‘Peace’. They hit the road in September playing dates right until December – grab your ticket with Gigantic!

Levellers tickets are currently available.
