SINGLES

LAURAN HIBBERD – “Bleugh”

Pop punk brat Lauran Hibberd isn’t taking it anymore. Sick of being trapped in the cycle of chasing deadbeat boyfriends only to be burned over and over again, she now sticks two fingers up to them all and turns a new page with her assertive anthem “Bleugh”

‘Bleugh’ is the only sound that sums up my adult reaction to my pre-naive self. “It’s about always being attracted to people who’ve nothing going on, nothing to offer you, yet it’s that hamster wheel you can’t quite jump off.

You’ll probably find these people in bands called something like ‘broken cyclists’ or better yet in moody solo projects called something pretentious like ‘bora boring’. It’s my favourite track of mine, and I’ve been sitting on and incubating this girl for a while. It feels really good shouting ‘Bleugh’ btw, I recommend you try it out”.

The grungy guitars and addictive hooks as heard on previous track “How Am I Still Alive?” are brought to life by producer Suzy Shinn and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer (YAK, Weezer, Panic! At The Disco), and will feature on her Goober EP, out on Friday 30th of July.

Lauran Hibberd plays support for McFly at Weekend In the Park at Garon Park, Essex on Saturday 31st of July before appearing at NEIGHBOURHOOD WEEKENDER at Victoria Park in Warrington from Friday 3rd till Sunday 5th of September. Plus, she takes over Bristol’s Exchange on Sunday 10th of October!

Lauran Hibberd tickets are currently available.

LIZ LAWRENCE – “Saturated”

We are big fans of indie pop superstar Liz Lawrence in the Gigantic office. Growing from cult figure to becoming a major player, each new release reveals her formidable songwriting talent and now she shares new single “Saturated” – our first introduction to The Avalanche scheduled for release on September 17th.

Recently named Gigantic’s Artist of the Week (See Here), Lawrence’s latest offering “Saturated” is a euphoric track, gushing with the early flourishes of young love. It follows earlier singles “Where The Bodies Are Buried” and “Down For Fun”, all of which will feature on her third album which distils the energy of her live shows into eleven new tracks.

"I like to dance, and I like to move, and I wanted to make a record that people would move to quite naturally. I wanted it to have motion. I think it's quite silly, and it's joyful, and I'm not always sure people expect that from me.

While you eagerly await The Avalanche, fans can catch Liz Lawrence when she plays Signals Festival on Saturday 11th of June and Crich Tramway Village at Matlock. Plus, she has announced her own headline dates

Liz Lawrence tickets are currently available.

DECLAN WELSH & THE DECADENT WEST – “Parisian Friends”

Led by a charismatic singer, Declan Welsh and The Decadent West are the Glaswegian indie gang rapidly rising to the top following their breakthrough debut album Cheaply Bought, Expensively Sold which dropped just last year. Heading straight back into the studio, the quartet have announced a brand-new EP It’s Been A Year featuring lead single “Parisian Friends” which launched this week!

Combing a wry wit with classic indie disco riffs, “Parisian Friends” is the banging summer anthem perfect for that road trip you will remember for the rest of your life as Declan explains;

‘Parisian Friends’ is a song about being surrounded by cool people and feeling like you might not match up. It’s a fun, tongue-in-cheek tune that’s meant to be played live and jumped around to. It was written while we played a gig in Paris, after Duncan (guitarist) had driven his old banger of a car all the way from Glasgow. That car was written off after we made it back. The French is deliberately ham-fisted as it’s about trying to superficially present yourself as one thing, when you know that’s not who you really are."

See Declan Welsh and The Decadent West when they clamber back into the tour bus in Autumn, playing shows in promotion of It’s Been A Year during November.

Declan Welsh and The Decadent West tickets are currently available.

YVES TUMOR – “Jackie”

Enigmatic electronica artists Yves Tumor (AKA Floridian musician/producer Sean Bowie) is back following last year’s killer LP Heaven To A Tortured Mind with his brand-new song “Jackie”. Co-written with Chris Greatti, the mind-bending single comes alongside a visually striking video which is suitably psychedelic to match the trippy vibes of the track created by LA creative studio Actual Objects.

We loved collaborating with Yves Tumor on Jackie — we’ve been massive fans for years,” the team explain in a new statement. “Their work is always so forward looking and has always been a major inspiration for us. Jackie was a chance for us to dig deep into our toolkit and work with some of our most experimental techniques.” – Actual Objects

Get down to Chalk in Brighton and The Pink Room at Yes in Manchester during March next year to see him play eagerly awaited UK shows -  tickets on sale with Gigantic right now!

Yves Tumor tickets are currently available.
