SON LITTLE – ‘suffer’ / ‘mahalia

Born in LA with a preacher and a teacher for parents, rhythm and blues songwriter Son Little grew up in a close-knit family before embarking on a music career which has seen him attract listeners right across the US and Europe with his heartfelt and impassioned performances. Following the tragic suicide of his Uncle, Grammy Award winner Son addresses the pain and anguish following the loss in new single ‘suffer’.

suffer’ is the lead single, taken from Son Little’s upcoming album fourth album ‘aloha’ which was recorded at Studios Ferber in Paris with producer Renaud Letang (Feist, Manu Chao) and is released on Friday January 31st via ANTI. Also featured is brand new single ‘mahalia’ which reveals a man who understands how complex relationships can be,

That song’s an apology delivered at the start of a relationship, instead of the end, when it all falls apart. I’d been thinking a lot about how I find myself repeating the same mistakes in different areas of my life. I find myself drawn over and over to the same qualities in different people, and sometimes the dynamic can become toxic. Pointing the finger is easy. I’m trying to be better at acknowledging my part of the problem.

The R&B maestro will be showing off his superb new material with shows at Patterns in Brighton and London Oslo during March – grab your ticket right now!

Son Little tickets are currently available.

PALAYE ROYALE – ‘Massacre, The New American Dream

Following on from their stunning second album ‘Boom Boom Room (Side B)’ which broke the Top 10 US Top Alternative Albums, Canadian Glam rockers Palaye Royal are back with their powerful new EP ‘Massacre, The New American Dream’. The title track of which addresses the constant mass shootings which blight the US – and yet the atrocities have somehow become normalised.

"This is a protest. In hopes to give this new generation a revolution in the form of an anthem. We are all on the verge of waking up and truly understanding that people should not be afraid of their government, government should be afraid of their people. This is how we feel about the current state of America. We are the new era, united we stand, in search of retribution for those who have been wronged."

"We are tired of seeing innocent people being gunned down so unbelievably often and still there is no change. How many more innocent people have to die for change to happen? Government and the news share no sort of resolve or actions of change for these problems."

Palaye Royale tickets are currently available.
