What Is It?

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Exodus

When Was It Released?

3 June 1977

Where Did You First Hear It?

In Spain - along the northern coastline.

What Does It Mean To You?

This album was the summer soundtrack to my childhood. I used to live in Spain and I'd go from beach to beach blasting out these songs. It brings me back so many great memories and even to this day it still puts me in a good mood. It's my go to album for when the sun shines.

Talk Us Through Your Favourite Songs On The Album

Exodus’ has such a unique rhythm, even as a reggae track it really stands out. There's something slow yet fast about it. The kick is pumping four to the floor like a dance track yet the guitars are pulling it back and I just love how they go together. It's so addictive!

Jamming’ is one of Bob's best, the intro drum fill is perfect and the rhythm of the song is so feel-good. Like with ‘Exodus’, the kick drum is pumping away while the guitars are slow and laid back. I think this combination makes for a danceable yet relaxing vibe which Bob Marley and The Wailers were masters at.

One Love’ - anthemic, singalong song that reaches to all of humanity. My kind of message and this is a big influence on me and how I approach music and songwriting.
