Music Observer presents:
India Arkin
with Dring and Emily Ashberry
Doors: 7pm
In 2021, HMV launched its own record label and chose a young Newcastle-based singer-songwriter as the first signing: India Arkin. Since then, she has gone from strength to strength, and it's easy to see why. India's music punches high and is packed with innovation and energy.
She now steps into a new era, drawing inspiration from Alice Phoebe Lou, Billie Marten, and Men I Trust. With support from BBC Introducing and a string of acclaimed live shows across the UK and Europe, she continues to redefine what vulnerability can sound like.
As part of her first-ever 'stripped' tour, India will be making her Nottingham debut.

India will be supported by two local artists:
Main support comes from Dring: an emotive storyteller whose raw, folk-rooted sound is fast marking her out as one of the most compelling new voices of her generation. Hailing from a small village on the outskirts of Nottingham, Dring channels the quiet intensity of artists like Hozier, Billie Eilish, and Joni mitchell, with the lyrical honesty of Tracy Chapman and the drama of Marcus Mumford. Her songs, often written alone in her bedroom, navigate the messy beauty of life, love, queerness, and growing up - capturing moments of vulnerability with disarming maturity... linktr.ee/dringmusic
Emily Ashberry will be opening the show with a solo set. Emily is an acoustic singer-songwriter with roots in traditional folk music. She has developed her own unique writing style, creating modern folk songs that often explore queer points of view. emilyashberry.bandcamp.com
