Additional information

Freshlyground step into a new phase of Afro-jazz, township pop and rhythm-led soul, delivered with festival-scale energy and precision.

Known for ‘Doo Be Doo’ and their global collaboration on ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)’ with Shakira, the band built a reputation for bright, rhythm-driven performances.

Marabi-leaning piano, Afro-pop melody and jazz horns drive a constantly shifting sound, with flutes and guitars weaving through a propulsive rhythm section that never settles into one shape.

Mbali Makhoba now leads from the centre, sharpening the focus of a band built for movement, arrangement and real-time live energy.
