Folk singer-songwriter Emily Ashberry launches her debut album via Folkroom Records on Friday 23rd October, and we're hosting a party to celebrate!
Ocean Big & Wide explores the relationship between English and American folk music. On it, Emily examines her British and Appalachian heritage to find connections across two continents, charting the musical journey of the roots music she grew up with.
“This album began as a love letter to my grandparents, and their journey between here and the American South. Through it I’ve found so many connections, in the music and the stories that have crossed the Atlantic, and the things that tie people together across generations. These songs are about love and loss, home and hope, and I weave that into my own songs to keep that thread going and continue the tradition.”
Join us on the 23rd October to celebrate the release of this gorgeous album, with a live full-band performance from Emily, as well as support sets from Alfie Norma and Lydia Page.
