Baloji has become one of the most innovative rappers ever to emerge from Africa.

Fusing funk, afrobeat, hip-hop, and soul with the urban sounds of his Congo homeland, Baloji has earned numerous accolades, including a certified gold album.

Originally part of the world-renowned 90s hip-hop group, Starflam, Baloji has gone on to collaborate with Sampa The Great, Metronomy, Jamila Woods, Natalie Bergman, and José James, championed by Gilles Peterson, COLORS, and many more.

Village Underground is an unseated venue for most of our events, but we have solutions to help ensure that as many people as possible are able to attend our shows.
